4th Ewell (Nonsuch) Scout Group is delighted to announce that we will be returning for a fourth year to sell christmas trees this festive period.
The dates for 2012 have been confirmed as:
Look out for a leaflet through your door for your special extra treat! We can't wait to see you there! ![]() Here at 4th Ewell we'd like to express our thanks to everyone who has supported our Christmas Tree Sale this year. Over the last two weekends we have sold a whopping 310 trees and have raised thousands of pounds to support Scouting at 4th Ewell for another year. We know that times are tough right now, which is why we appreciate your support now more than ever. All the proceeds from the sale go to support 4th Ewell and other participating local charities. With the increasing popularity of real Christmas Trees demand in the UK this year has outstripped supply, pushing up the wholesale cost of trees. But, by keeping our overheads low, we have managed to keep our prices competitive, whilst continuing to supply only the finest quality trees that our customers have come to expect from us over the last three years. We were delighted to see many familiar faces at this year's sale with many people returning to us for a third time this year. This is a huge compliment and testament to the quality of our trees. We are delighted to know that so many people will be enjoying a 4th Ewell Nordman Fir for a third consecutive year. Of course fund-raising events like this don't happen without the support of a huge team of dedicated parents, leaders, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who gave up their time this Christmas to help with our sale. We couldn't have done it without you! If you'd like to get involved with the fun and adventure of Scouting please head over to our main website for more information. Don't forget that Scouting is for adults too. Scouting simply would not exist without the skills and enthusiasm of thousands of our adult helpers. Whether you can spare two hours a week or a day a month, we need instructors, treasurers, administrators and people to help out at meetings. There are few things quite as satisfying as providing the opportunity for a new Beaver Scout discover their first night away from home, or helping a Scout build their first bivouac in the woods. The most important thing to remember is that everyone has something to offer. And no matter how much time you can spare, there is a role to suit everyone in Scouting. Have you got your tree decorated yet? We'd love to see what you've done with it, so please send us a picture through our 'Show Us Yours' page. Once again, thank you very much for your support of the 4th Ewell Christmas Tree Sale 2011. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! 4th Ewell (Nonsuch) Scout Group Executive Committee _To date we have sold over 250 non-drop Nordman Fir trees, a great testament to all the hard work of our volunteers! Have your children decorated your Christmas tree with anything unusual? We’d like to hear from you so please show us yours! _This weekend saw people coming to 4th Ewell (Nonsuch) Scout Group Headquarters in their droves. Over the weekend, despite competition from numerous street traders, customers would rather do their bit for charity at Christmas and give money to their local Scout Group. In some cases, the quality of our trees pulled in residents of Esher, Croydon, Twickenham, and Wimbledon. One couple surprised us by saying they even managed to keep the tree from last year green until June! Did you get your tree from us this weekend? If so, we'd love to see it and find out what you think of it so please show us yours! Today, the first day of the 2011 Christmas Tree Sale has been the busiest sale day ever! From 9am this morning, undeterred by the chilly weather, locals and passers-by were queuing outside the gate to find their perfect tree for this festive season.
For some it was like love at first sight, for others, it took a lot of browsing to make sure they found the right tree before returning home to the inevitable chaos or baubles and tinsel. With assistance of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers doing their good turn, there was certainly plenty of Christmas cheer here at 4th Ewell. We're really keen to see our customers' trees when they're set up and decorated at home. Why not share a photo with us, and we'll put it up on our website for all to see? Click here to Show us yours!
